Protection for committee members and club officers against claims arising from their decision or actions whilst managing the club.
Who is covered by this insurance scheme?
This cover applies only to activities authorised or recognised by the Great Britain Outrigger. The policy covers:
- Clubs, their officers and committee members
- Employees
- Instructors and Coaches
- Members
- Guest members
- Volunteers
Insurance applies to recognised and approved activities of GB Outrigger.
What do you get with your membership?
As part of your membership with GB Outrigger you automatically receive the benefit of the Combined Liability insurance. The annual policies run from 4th March 2025 – 3rd March 2026
Policy limits are as follows:
- Public Liability - cover for your legal liability of up to £10,000,000 (£250 Excess)
- Professional Indemnity - cover for the club's or instructors legal liability of up to £1,000,000
- Directors and Officers – cover for club committee members of up to £250,000 (£250 Excess)
- Employers Liability – cover for clubs in respect of claims for injuries made by employees or volunteers, up to £10,000,000
Reporting an incident
Please follow these simple steps to making a claim:
- All incidents that could give rise to a claim must be reported at your earliest opportunity to Marsh Sport on 0345 872 5060 or email marshsport@marsh.com
- Any writ or summons must be forwarded on immediately following receipt.
- You should not admit liability under any circumstances as the insurers will respond to all allegations on your behalf.

£10,000,000 limit of indemnity
Public liability insurance provides protection against legal liability for bodily injury to third parties and damage to third party property.
Products liability insurance provides protection against legal liability to pay compensation including legal costs for death or bodily injury, or damage to third party property arising from products supplied.
